Anna Silk is a Fredericton resident, and is the daughter of Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had numerous skills, such as being able to direct, act, produce, write plays teaching, as well as be the Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's father is British, and her mother was an Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother perform in play rehearsals. Anna appeared in several advertisements in her youth. Then, in November 1999 Anna relocated to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career. She ended up moving to Los Angeles, California, in the following decade. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting workshop in 2007. The couple got engaged in the year 2009. They married at a civil wedding ceremony in December and renewed their vows in the form of a Jewish celebration in Fredericton in April 2011, in the wake of Anna's conversion into Judaism. Bo's same-sex relationship to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was featured in the list of CNN's all-time Favorite TV Couples and named the Top Television Couple in 2013, by E! Entertainment Television. The show's success led to Anna growing a substantial followers on social media.
