Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's existence is one of football scholarship, family work and community involvement. Selmon is the youngest of children from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. They raised him on the family farm near Eufala. Another reason for his football career was that he is the youngest of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as the team's starter, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received his bachelor's diploma in education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service consisted of ten hours a week as a volunteer in the college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. He also began an entrepreneurial career. The first job he had was a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that The Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as a player, captained his team during the season of 1975.
